Writing-3 ways to write an interesting melody

In this article, we'll discuss some ways to create contrast in your songs with your melodies.

1 Vocal range

It is a large, because it is so effective. It is fairly common in many popular songs to have their quest in a register below, and then chorus Sung near the top of the vocal range of the singer. This is a great way to let you know when an article has ended and another began. Also, when the chorus is sung more than the researcher and the bridge, it is an excellent way to make your chorus stand out, this is what it purports to do.

Another way to integrate voice as a means of distinguishing one section of another is to keep a vocal range very tight in your quest, but then to use a much wider range of notes in your vocal choruses. A good example of this can be heard in the song "Brighter than the Sun" by Colbie Caillat.

2. The rhythm of the Notes

Melody is composed of rhythm and tone. So change your vocal range from section to section is a way to get the contrast with your land, you can also change the pace of your melody of the chorus bridge verse.

If you have short notes "choppy" in your search, you can use notes more attracted the most in your gatherings. If you have a lot of space between the sentences in your quest, you can use almost no space between your sentences in your gatherings. If you have an idea in your quest, simply changing it its opposite in the chorus, you will create a pleasant contrast to your melody. An excellent example of the evolution of the rhythm of each section is located in the song "this is the end of the world as we know it (and I Feel Fine)" by REM. The melody in the researcher is very fast and choppy, while the melody of the chorus is much longer.

This same idea is used in the song "Over the Rainbow" sung by Judy Garland. The researcher very drawn melodies, while the bridge was much shorter notes choppier, from the line, "Someday I wish upon a star". It is a very effective contrast.

3 Start the melody has a different Beat

It is a good, which is hardly ever proposed. The pace that you start your melody can affect the mood of your song. Much time is songwriters write their downbeat melodies to go (fight 1) a measure, because it tends to come more naturally to know if you do that all the time, it can become tedious, that is why if your chorus begins each melodic line is a pessimistic, it may be an effective strategy to launch your verse melodic lines have one rate other than the pessimistic.

It is also important to note that everything that lands on the word on the pessimists will tend to be the most highlighted. That is why if the expression in the title of your song falls is the beat, it may be an effective gesture to highlight your title.
